When we first introduced our Wacky One-Speed Rear Device (W.O.R.D.), it was the first purpose-built single speed mountain bike hub. That original hub not only set design standards that continue to this day, like a 52mm single speed chainline, it also proved that small American manufacturers could stand out in a market increasingly crowded by bigger overseas brands. When designing this modern version of the WORD, we spread the flanges out as far as possible while leaving room for freewheel threading. This allows the WORD to be built up as a strong dishless wheel. Over the years we’ve also improved upon the original axle and bearing adjustment mechanism to produce a single speed hub that we’re proud to call one of our heritage - 6061 Aluminum - 200g - Anodized or Polished - Black or Silver - Axle Spacing: 135mm - Flange Diameter: 43m - Center to Flange: 39.5mm - Chainline: 52mm - Spoke Holes 28, 32, or 36 - Freewheel threading English 1.37x24tpi - Axle Bolt Torque 21 N·m

These hubs are machined from three inch round bars of 6061 aluminum. - High flanges builds a stiff, strong wheel - The axle is ground from 7075 aluminum, which has a great strength to weight ratio - Adjustable precision bearings - Knurled stainless steel outer locknut faces - 216g (inc bolts) Dimensions: Axle Spacing: 100mm Flange Diameter: 65mm Center to Flange: 32.5mm
